The Accord has been named a 2014 Most Popular vehicle on Edmunds.com. The Accord has won KBB.com’s 2014 Best Resale Value Award in the midsize car category. According to the editors, "The 2014 Accord buried the competition." We know that safety is an important factor to consider when buying a car.
That's why we're especially proud that the Accord Sedan received a 5-star overall vehicle score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)[1]. New available features include Forward Collision Warning[2] (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning[3] (LDW) to help you on the road. [1] Based on frontal crash, side crash and rollover categories. Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program (www.SaferCar.gov). Model tested with standard side airbags (SABs).
Vehicles tested under the new program cannot be compared to MY10 and earlier vehicles. [2] FCW cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. FCW does not include a braking function.
Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions. [3] LDW only alerts drivers when lane drift is detected without a turn signal in use. LDW may not detect all lane markings or lane departures; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and road condition. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions. We know there's a lot to consider when buying a new car, especially cost of ownership.
That's why we're proud that the Accord won a Kelley Blue Book 2014 5- Year Cost to Own Award[1]. The award factored in "financing costs, insurance costs and state fees plus the anticipated costs of fuel, scheduled maintenance and repairs." [1] 2014 model-year vehicle's projected cost to own for the initial 5-year ownership period is based on the average Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own data, which considers depreciation and costs such as fuel and insurance.
